My Life Goals

In 2015, I set out some goals for myself to complete in my life. Some of them were long, some of them were short but I also knew that some goals weren't going to be completed until 2030 or even 2040.

I have had a few setbacks in my life since 2015. However I have also came across some blessings that have made me think about other goals.

Right now, I'm in a life setting where I'm taking things day by day until I have the confidence to get on with my life. I watch sports a lot and always plan on blogging every night but rarely have the energy at the end of the night.

I'll get through this, nothing is impossible but I need to be in the right setting to concur everything that is in my path.

Here are my goals that I wrote down in 2015:

Sports Camps for kids with disabilities
Public Speaking
Get baptized
Be apart of a church
Have a video blog
Have a website
TRU cares
Start a ESL school in an third world country
Have a YouTube channel
Coach basketball
Mock draft parties
Start Youth Center
Study Abroad
Co-op
Sports Tours
Mentorship

Some I am close to completing and others I'm farther away from than I was 2015. There are others that I'm working towards. I don't like working a paid job five days in a row but on the flip side I love doing something everyday.

I'm up at 6:30am tomorrow morning to watch soccer. I'll explain more tomorrow.

The Struggle is Real

I need a break. Sports are just too complex for my brain right now. The thing that occurred to me a few days ago is that Minnesota has one of the longest title droughts in sport in North America. Personally, I would trade my Super Bowl in 2014 for an NBA expansion team in Vancouver.

I want to love everyone who opens their heart for me. There's a lot of people like that. I love you guys but I'm completely burnt out lately. I have ideas. I'm going to change the world and it is going to start on this blog.

I need to first get myself in the mood to write. I have a soft spot for sports teams that win lots and never win a title.

When the dust clears for me I'll hopefully be able to remain positive on everything I do. When I get to the point where I can write whatever comes to mind that will be a good day. However, right now I don't have the energy or I get in the groove and I'm too cold to think.

One day at a time. It's going to be amazing when I get through this.

November 24th, 2018

I'm fully aware things aren't as easy to do as we may think. I tend to be critical of certain things that don't go right.

College Football seems dull to me this year. We knew who the Top three teams were in College Football back in October. As long as Clemson beats Pitt next Saturday, all three will make it. I think Georgia is the fourth best team but they most likely have to win to remain in the Top 4.

At least tomorrow is a NFL day. Playoff races are in full force and some teams can't really afford another loss.

I never know what games I'm getting on my IPTV Box until the 1PM Eastern time kickoffs. For sure Seattle's game and a couple others.

Glad the NFL is balanced, always feels like there are 2-3 teams a year that are ending maybe not a playoff drought but they are getting their feet wet in a playoff push.

Grizzlies Providing the Punch

The Memphis Grizzlies franchise have came so far in their 23 year existence. From their abysmal 20 win seasons when they were known as the Vancouver Grizzlies to a Conference Final appearance in 2013 the Grizzlies franchise has experienced a lot over the years and that continued last night.

The Memphis Grizzlies have never fared well in San Antonio and last night and are in soul possession of first place in the Western Conference.

If my facts are correct. This is the first time Memphis has been in first place this late into the season. Will it continue, I'm not sure but as a sports fan this would be something to get excited about.

First and tenth are decided by 2.5 games and the Grizzlies are one of the teams playing with house money. The roll players are holding their own which is a welcoming sign for their fans.

Top end talent across the conference has seemed to take a step back. Oklahoma City, San Antonio and Houston aren't what they were in the past 6-7 years.

Tomorrow is a big game against the LA Clippers, another winnable game. The longer this goes for Memphis the better. If things tremble apart before Christmas there will likely be no road back. They have a chance to be this years Las Vegas Golden Knights. They might not make it to the NBA Finals but they have a huge chance to bridge the Grit and Grind era with their next era of Grizzlies basketball.

The NBA is fun again. I want to see every city win a Championship in my lifetime. However, there are cities like Memphis that are a long shot.

I'm Ready for Change

The hardest part of the last five years for me has been feeling like I'm still trapped in my 2012 self. Things are getting easier but the countdown is tough. I'll be free from school or work in six weeks. I don't know what I'll be doing after that.

That doesn't bother me right now. I need to focus on my sports blog and my goals. As a child, I was a Grizzlies, Canucks, Mariners and Packers fan.

Here is the break down of what my teams did every year.

Grizzlies  Canucks  Mariners Packers

2018

The yes, refers to if they made the playoffs or not. My favorite teams as a kid made the plays 48 times since 1993 and two Championships. I hope my math is right. In 1999 and 2008 all my favorite teams missed the playoffs. 2018 might be one of those years as the Packers need to make the playoffs to keep the streak alive.

In 2013, I hit rock bottom. I wanted freedom for once. My Dad would get grumpy when I got angry at sports losses and that wasn't fair because I have Cerebal Palsy and go through way tougher things on a daily basis.

I feel bad for ditching a few of these teams but it was what I had to do at the time. I'm not a bandwagon jumper and thankful that I'm doing better now.

I choose the Suns because my family has a place in Arizona, Mets because I was a fan before 2001 and Seahawks because I had a bunch of Seattle fans on my FB.

Here is my current table:

Suns Canucks  Mets  Seahawks

This table equals 46 playoff appearances and 1 Championship. This proves that I'm not a bandwagon jumper.

I'm going to do my best to plan something on my blog every day at 11pm so that I won't have any distractions when I write.

This process was hard on me and it really made me realize that you don't pick a team. A team picks you.

My Anxiety Effects My Writing

I'm upset that life gets busy and I have no time to write. Today there was numerous sports on TV and the best was the Seahawks win over the Packers on Thursday Night Football.

The Seahawks, at 5-5  can only afford one more loss. That loss might come next week when they play on the road in Carolina.

I have a lot of goals in my life and one of them is to write every day on here. A story might not come to me. That being said, putting down my thoughts on here will help me think positively about having a disability.

I was glad I was able to watch a little bit of the Oregon Ducks basketball game tonight. They fell to Iowa 77-69. I think Iowa is going to be a good team this year but their going to have to make sure they get one win tomorrow against Syracuse.

I'm curios what will happen with my Ducks. I was a closet fan for years but I'm really proud of myself for coming out in the last year. I have lots of support now and I'm ready to put my past bullying nightmares from the University of Washington to bed.

I'm ready to turn around my past fears. I'm going to make a new list of goals tomorrow and plan my days around those goals.

Things are going to take off for me one day. I just know it. I just need to get back in the groove. I wish I could stay up to 3am tonight and get back in my groove but I can't. I guess I'll try and do that tomorrow.

Seattle Seahawks Still Have the Passion that Made them Great Before

Are the Seahawks close to contending or are they still hanging on by the thread from their slow decline of last year? Thursday's Seahawks game is a must win game and I believe they will win but the scary thing is, it's also a pretty big game for Green Bay.

When the Seahawks picked Rashaad Penny last year in the first round, many Hawks fans were pessimistic. Yes, there were other areas where we needed more help but having a running back that is explosive can be very important.

If anything, the manner that the Seahawks have lost these close games might save Pete Carroll's job. If we draft well in the off-season, our future still might be bright.

The Rams window might be only two years long. I doubt they can keep all those great players long term. Seattle needs to be ready when there is a opening.

For those people predicting this team would win 5-6 games all year, you forget to take into account that Russell Wilson rarely loses a game by more than 9 points. This is an incredible stat that only happens one time a year if that.

It feels good to not be a 2-7 team however. This isn't baseball or basketball where rebuilds take 3-5 years.

The 12th Man is special. We are on the rise again. The NFC is so tight that it's easy to go from eighth to third in the conference easily.

There should be no panic from the Seahawks fans despite the unrest.

The Gap is Closing in the NBA

The NBA is in a precious spot right now. In the past few years, the neutral fan has criticized the NBA for having super teams. We have seen the same matchup in the NBA Finals the last four years with the last two becoming very lopsided with Curry out dueling King James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The last nine games resulting in Golden Sta
te having a 8-1 edge. The rivalry had become stale. I'm glad James moved on to Los Angeles. It will be very refreshing to see a different team in the Eastern Conference. Toronto, Philadelphia and Boston, all have a equal shot.

The landscape of the NBA its starting to change. Curry is 30 and might not be able to have the same success as he does now. The thing that is going to be interesting is who is going to be the next super team.

Boston and Philly have a chance. They both feature young cores that should compete for the NBA Title for the next decade. Milwaukee is strong and Toronto is nearing the end of their window if Kawhi Leonard leaves as a free agent this summer.

In the West, there are not many teams that are building a strong threesome. Denver, Portland and Memphis have had good starts but neither seem to be on the rise. Sacramento, Dallas and Phoenix all have a shot but are still a lottery pick a way from being in serious contention.

I feel the NBA parity gap is getting super tight after the Top 4 teams. The Western Conference is one Curry sprained ankle away from things getting very interesting.

I hope the parity continues.
