This Stock Might Make You Thousands...

I want to be a forward thinker and do things in this country that never seemed possible before. I feel confident that despite the set backs I have had I am not losing money.

I only went to San Diego last year. I had a lot planned for that 12 month period but most of it was a dream and not a reality.

I guess the goal was to hit the jackpot on the stock market but that really never happened. I’m only 6% up on my stocks. 8% up on my Net worth from this time last year and in another 6 weeks, I’ll be full speed ahead.

It was scary because it could have been a lot worse. I learned a lot about stocks and RDSP’s this year. I had to pay for a college course that I wasn’t planning on paying for because of disability
grants that are available to students.

I was however able to find EGLX on the stock market and I have made $4,000 from that stock and I’m hoping more in the coming year.
Here is a look at the message board  for EGLX. I fully recommend this stock as a strong buy. This feels like Weed money all over again.
Lately it has a good week every 2-3 weeks and then there is a sell off before holding ground for a week.
I'm not sure Esports have hit there peak. My guess is this stock is 2.70 by next year at this time, 4 by June of 2021 and 11 by June of 2022. After that it is anyone's guess.

Which Four Pro Teams Belong to Vancouver the Most?

I can't be happy for St. Louis Blues fans this afternoon. I've tried but I can't do it. St. Louis despite losing the St. Louis Rams a few seasons ago still has baseball which is more than Vancouver sports fans have.

Growing up a Vancouver sports fan is like going to Disneyland when your too young to enjoy all the good rides. Some are scary and others are fun but not suspenseful enough.

In Vancouver, people are divided by their sports teams. In hockey it's a complete mixed bag for people 45 and older. That's where all the Maple Leafs fans come from. I baseball, basketball and football are equally split in other ways. Some are still loyal too Toronto and cheer for them like the home town team and other fans have there own personal reasons why they cheer or not cheer for certain teams.

Then there's the Seahawks... for good reason, Seattle has adopted thousands of new Seahawks fans since Russell Wilson got drafted. Bars in Vancouver are packed with #12 jerseys through out Vancouver. They are closer to Vancouver's team than the Raptors or blue Jays.

In all three leagues, there are arguments for and against which team belongs to Vancouver. I bring this but because seeing people cheer for Toronto last night just steps from the old GM Place at Boston pizza last night sucked.

I want a baseball team and basketball team but the reality is I'm not getting one anytime soon. Vancouver getting a NFL team is already a pipedream.

With my Cerebral Palsy things have never been smooth but sports are great therapy. This time of year sucks because unless my favorite teams are in the NBA and NHL playoffs.

I have wanted to move somewhere far away the last three years. This would give me a chance to get a way and reflect on things in my life but external things haven't allowed me too.

The bottom line is we might see a first time Stanley Cup winner. There city has more going for it than Vancouver.

Let's all try to make our life memorable but boy I missed my Vancouver Grizzlies last night.

I Don't Like Where College Basketball and Football are Going

College sports has began a significant shift in what things might look like in a few years. College Football is turning into a two team sport with Alabama or Clemson running away with things in football and College Basketball implanting 20 game conference schedules starting the year next will create more power to the major conference teams.

My first reaction is that it is very scary. What will it look like when there are no ore one and dones in College basketball? There are 351 teams competing to play in the Final four next year but only a small fraction have a realistic chance.

College football is smaller at about 130 teams but the ratio is almost the same. I don't like where this is going, we need a solution and the only thing I can think of is a 4 team College Football Non Power 5 playoff.

Neutral site games are controlling the marquee non conference slate in college football including an opening clash between the Oregon Ducks and the Auburn Tigers. It's a bigger game for Oregon
considering Auburn has the Iron Bowl at home this year. For Oregon, 2015 seems like decades ago while their BCS loss to Auburn seems like ages ago.

Coach Cristobal is building something at Oregon but we don't know what yet. For a Pac 12 team to make the CFP everything has to fall into place. The Pac 12 doesn't get respected. It's hard enough to go 9-0 in conference let alone 13-0. A 12-1 Pac 12 team basically has a 50/50 chance at making the CFP.

I mean, four teams and five major conferences is going to make it hard but I think it was designed like this. They want teams scheduling tough games. I just think with some conferences playing nine games and some eight, some conferences playing a championship game and some not  has made SOS and all this other stuff has made everything an unfair advantage.

For instance, if Washington plays Alabama and loses and loses to Oregon. They finish 10-2. Oregon might play a weak conference schedule and beat Washington but loses only one. Oregon finishes 12-1 because they win the Pac 12 Title game. On the morning of the CFP selection show, Oregon is higher in the CFP standings. Likely between 4-6. The would be on the bubble. Washington at 10-2 is not inconsideration because of their two losses.

Anyone see what I'm seeing? Scheduling is important if you have 0 or 1 loses but if a power 5 school goes 13-0 against three easy no conference teams, they would most likely get in.

I actually feel bad for teams like Wake Forest and Kansas that will never see their team in a CFP. I guess until we get our next shift in power in CFB or more conference realignment, we are stuck in a era that I'm not proud of. In either sport and my fear is that it is going to get better before it gets worse.

Why the NBA Got the Draft Lottery Right by Adopting the NHL Format

The results of the NBA Draft Lottery were not only eye opening but what was exactly what the NBA needed. In fact, this system might have eliminated tanking for the next several years. The Cavs, Suns and Bulls all got stabbed in the back while the Lakers, Grizzlies and Pelicans all embraced the new system to the basketball gods.

This is a very similar system to one that hockey adopted prior to the 2015 NHL Draft. The only difference was they only draw the top three teams and the percentages are a bit off. Since that inaugural draft lottery with that system, there have been many teams in the NHL that have benefited that wouldn't have if the system hadn't changed.

What does this tell us? That both the NHL and NBA have found a method that will eliminate trying to land a franchise player in the upcoming draft. For instance, there is a huge difference this year from picking 1st and 5th and in many years this is the case.

NHL Lottery Draft Results since 2015:

 2019 NBA                  8                                   9                                   1                                  11
As the NHL draft results have indicated, the ping pong balls have came out all over the place. The worst team has gotten a Top 3 pick three out of five times for a 60% chance. The law of averages is 53%. If you look at the second worst team you have received a Top 3 pick just once. That is 20% with the law of averages being 38% Etc etc.

Fans like to have a knee jerk reaction when something happens in the lottery that doesn't favor their team. The NBA lottery as mentioned above is slightly different in that the percentages are different and they have four draws.

The reality is, these draws have to be conducted 1000's of times to have the law of averages even out. If it were me, I would have 14 draws to see how far teams could really fall but from the data that has been collected, it is easy to see why this works. There is no pattern and impossible to predict. Exactly what the NBA wanted.

Great Britain Back in IIHF's Top Flight Division

It's been 25 years since Great Britain has been playing at the top level of the IIHF hockey championships. While Team GB might not have a long history of hockey, they do hold one claim to fame that Russia, Sweden or anybody else can't.

If you do into a sports bar anywhere in the world, you might be able to win lots of money with one simple question. Who was the first country other than Canada to win Olympic Gold? The year was 1936 and Olympics were held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Canada came into the tournament as overwhelming favorites as they had won Olympic Gold on the last three occasions. This tournament was different however, Great Britain was able to play good defensively as they outscored their opponents 19-4 in eight games.

The catch is, there were Canadians on that team because of Canada's forced participation WW I. This resulted in an increased interest in hockey that resulted in a 1936 Gold.

Since WW II there has been a steady decline in British hockey. A 4th place finish at the 1950 World Championship is the last significant result. The last time they were playing in the top tier was 1994 when they finished dead last which resulted in there relegation.

They were promoted last year when they won their group. This gave them promotion back to the top level where they will be playing the likes of Canada, USA and Finland. Getting out of the group stage would be a miracle but not getting relegated isn't impossible. Beating France might be their best chance.

Here is the schedule for Group A which is the easier of the two groups:
