Great Britain Back in IIHF's Top Flight Division

It's been 25 years since Great Britain has been playing at the top level of the IIHF hockey championships. While Team GB might not have a long history of hockey, they do hold one claim to fame that Russia, Sweden or anybody else can't.

If you do into a sports bar anywhere in the world, you might be able to win lots of money with one simple question. Who was the first country other than Canada to win Olympic Gold? The year was 1936 and Olympics were held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Canada came into the tournament as overwhelming favorites as they had won Olympic Gold on the last three occasions. This tournament was different however, Great Britain was able to play good defensively as they outscored their opponents 19-4 in eight games.

The catch is, there were Canadians on that team because of Canada's forced participation WW I. This resulted in an increased interest in hockey that resulted in a 1936 Gold.

Since WW II there has been a steady decline in British hockey. A 4th place finish at the 1950 World Championship is the last significant result. The last time they were playing in the top tier was 1994 when they finished dead last which resulted in there relegation.

They were promoted last year when they won their group. This gave them promotion back to the top level where they will be playing the likes of Canada, USA and Finland. Getting out of the group stage would be a miracle but not getting relegated isn't impossible. Beating France might be their best chance.

Here is the schedule for Group A which is the easier of the two groups:

May 5th - Top Pick

It's been eight days since I have seen a almost automatic bet like I do tomorrow. Arsenal needs the win against Brighton & Hove Albion. With the Cardiff City loss today, Albion is safe and therefore has nothing to play for tomorrow.

My win last Friday has increased my winnings to 501 dollars. The odds for the Arsenal game are -305 and therefore 305 is what I would wager.

My record is 4-3 but I haven't lost a bet where I wagered over $50. Thanks for reading my blog and good luck on your betting.

My EPL Story

I grew up playing soccer and to be brutally honest with you mostly every Canadian does at some point of their youth career. For that reason I grew up watching soccer on Sportsnet. From my recollection, Sportsnet would televise three games on Saturday. The 12:45 kickoff, one game at 3 and the 5:30 game.

As a kid, my favorite color was blue and therefore, I liked watching Chelsea. For those of you laughing, I was five years old at the time. My brothers  favorite color was red and he liked Manchester United.

I quickly stopped watching soccer when I realized there were no EPL playoffs. This was a huge blow to me as North American sport is built on playoff success.

When I found out what the UEFA Champions League was I really wanted to jump back on the EPL bandwagon. Life got in the way off and on for over the last seven years. Mental health sucks and internal things that get in the way ruin life even more.

I want to be one of the biggest Chelsea fans in the world. Watch every game on TV and go to Stanford Bridge one day. I love blogging and I still have dreams of writing everyday and have a huge following.

I think Chelsea has the best stadium in the UK. I want to know everything about this team and get to know as many fans as possible.

I have Cerebal Palsy but I heart and passion for what I want to do in life make up for it. I can do anything I want if I put my mind to it. Tomorrow's game starts early for me at 6am Vancouver time. On TV as are most of the games are for me now that we are in 2019.

May 2nd Thoughts

I don't know where I'll be in a few years. Four years ago I wanted to start a business and become a billionaire before my 30th birthday. That never really came about for various reasons but it has shaped the last few years for me.

I don't need much in life. All I need is my net worth going up every month and stuff for me to do to keep me occupied. I don't like being bored and when I'm not in control of my life I get anxiety. I have about three more weeks until I have total control with everything in my life.

Before that happens I just have to be patient. I think it will happen but this is a huge month for me. I didn't think this month was going to ever happen.

Three years ago I wanted to move to Cranbrook BC. The main reason was because it was a small town that had junior hockey and a very cheap real estate. At that point in my life I didn't need a big place just needed a place to call home.

Things didn't go the way I planned in the spring of 2016. I got a job that literally gave me one shift a week until the fall. It was a scary time but I made ends meet because of the stock market and dreaming about my business goals.

Since March 2017 work shifts have picked up significantly. I still wanted to move but complications that were out of my control.

I still have dreams and I still want to help everyone I can but I need the help and the time. Please help me if you have any suggestions. I realize I am fortunate and I want to give back and help people but there are things that I'm not sure about of how to start up a business correctly.

I may have Cerebral Palsy but my super big heart makes up for it.

Here are my goals that I want to accomplish.

I have good knowledge on how to start these things but need guidance of how to do them legally.
