I will be trying to put together a sports diary of my thoughts of being a New York Mets fan but also other things that are going on in my life.
I work in an Elementary school. I desperately wanted to take the day off to watch Opening Day off but I didn't knew it wasn't the right thing to do.
At this time last year I wanted to sell everything I had and start fresh in a new country. I would have kept stuff that was important to me but it would have had to fit in a suitcase. Of course, because Covid was ruining my enjoyment for what I wanted to do most, I didn't.
Luckily for me, today's Mets game was delayed over four hours and I was able to watch the whole game live. It's just one game but it is so nice to see the Mets get a win. It has became almost a foregone conclusion over the last few years that the Mets win their opener.
I'll be curious if the Mets can buy a Championship in the Steve Cohen era. The Dodgers couldn't until the bubble. Yankees haven't won for awhile so it is not a given. With the extra playoff spots means that every game becomes a bit more important to avoid the one game playoff.
This team has failed before with good players on their roster so fingers crossed.
Mentally I feel good and I want to document the Important things in my life that keeps me motived. I have Cerebal Palsy so I've had my ups and downs but I feel like trying to put my distractions behind me and writing about my favourite baseball team like I had intended to in 2015 which never came to fruition because the smallest things drive me crazy.
Mets win 5-1.
