Canada has stormed out of the gates at the FIBA World Cup. A 95-65 win over France on Friday combined with a 128-75 win over Lebanon this morning has put Canada in the drivers seat to get to the next round.
Unfortunately, the Dominican Republic upset Italy makes Qualifying for the Olympics a bit more challenging.
The bracket projections are a bit fluid right now. Especially with Germany's upset over Austrillia. If Canada beats Spain they might have a Quarterfinal game against Germany. Things will get sorted out in the next round.
USA's less than impressive win over New Zealand makes me confident Canada could beat this roster. They play Greece tomorrow in a pretty big game.
Next game for Canada is against Latvia who is currently trailing France at the half 53-49.
