Will Canada Have to Change How They Pick Roster Moving Forward?

Currently, there are under 100 Canadian basketball players playing around the world. More if you include the players in the CBEL. My question becomes than how did Serbia's European league players out play Canada's.

The thought process of Canada's roster selection in theory would have worked but it's a flawed approach if Thomas Scrubb, Bell Haynes Edey and Ejim weren't utilized the way an All-Star team should have.

Canada is too deep at the NBA and pro players abroad. Truth is however, we might be too thin at the 4 and 5 spots to have a non NBA player give significant minutes off the bench for Canada moving forward.

On the contrast, Canada has an embarrassment of riches at the guard spot which is going to make it tough for guys like Pangos and others to crack the team.

I have Kyle  Wiltjer a better player than Scrubb so I'm curious on the final roster spots. With commitment being such a big deal, I wonder what players were offered a roster spot but declined.

Still, I foresee things shifting a bit for Canada. Beating the USA, the commitment should be at an all time high for USA which hopefully raises the commitment standard for Canada. Will they stick to their core 14 that got them there or will new players emerge.

I'm not trying to rain on the parade that happened this month but it almost backfired on Team Canada by having three players hog the bench for the majority of the tournament. Canada was in foul trouble most of the games and it was the players that were in foul trouble saved us.

Now, the question is can any of these players listed below blossom into depth at the National team level?
