Huskies Get Program Building Win

On Saturday the Huskies got a huge program win when the defeated USC 32-31 on Erik Folk's 32 yard Field split the up-rights as time expired.

This is a huge win for the program for a lot of reasons firstly this could spark some major recruits could come in our direction. Just think how much the win Stanford had versus USC a few years ago sparked their program and look where that program is now. Also the Huskies are now 2-2 and have a legitimate chance now to have 6 or 7 win season now if they can compete like this every week.

Because for the hole game on Saturday the Huskies play four quarters and when ever USC scored UW had an answer which was huge because I doubt that Washington could of created the magic if they had fell behind by two scores.

Lets be thankful that Erik Folk decided to go to UW instead of any other school because for the second year in a row he has put the dagger in the heart of the USC faithful. Last year it was at Husky Stadium on that magical Saturday last year. Ironically enough they were both short  Field goals.

Furthermore the Huskies probably could of won this game by about one or two Touchdowns. If the controversially non Horse Collar call not called on Jake Locker that made Locker fumble the football. That may of gave UW a 24-14 lead. This sparked a 14 point swing in favour of the the Trojans. Also on the Huskies second to last drive they dropped a number of balls that could of resulted in another major by the Dawgs.

Lets not get to ahead of our selves. USC is not the team they were five years ago and even last year for that matter. The Huskies did make a lot of minor mistakes that need to be fixed as the season progresses.

Fortunately USC made a crucial mistake on the Huskies final drive as Lane Kiffiin did not call his timeouts and try to give his team the ball back in a game that looked like it would always be the last team to have the ball would win.

So Coach Sark's first trip back to USC ended in a thrilling win that went back and fourth the hole game. The Huskies for the most part played a great game and handled adversity very well.

Although this win will mean nothing if the Huskies lay an egg against ASU next week. The Sun Devils have shown in their first five games of the year there not a push over and the Huskies will have to focus if they want to be contenders and not pretenders. The game is scheduled for a 7pm kickoff and can be seen on FSN.
