Who Will Win the EPL Title?

After a scintillating title race last year, the English Premier League is gearing up for another historic title race between the two heavyweights of Manchester City and Liverpool.

No matter who you ask, if they regularly watch the EPL they will say that it is a two horse race and that is it. One of them will finish first and the other will finish second.

But which way will it go? At the start of the year, it seemed foolish to put a dime down against Manchester City. The team that had a "down year" by their standards prevailed by one point on the last game of the season. It didn't come easy for them. In fact, Liverpool had the title in their grasp for a mere 17 minutes before Man City snatched it away with a decisive 4-1 win at Brighton.

The script seems flipped yet again this year as Liverpool seems like the team to beat. That was the case until last Sunday when an underachieving  Manchester United drew against league leaders Liverpool.

Now, the question is reopened again. Liverpool if they drop points again this Sunday against Tottenham, it will really feel that Man City will win their third straight.

The  good news the Reds have going for them is that they had a tougher schedule until now and that will remain the case for the next few weeks. Liverpool has played three games out of the ten against top six opposition  while Manchester City has only played one.

More importantly, Manchester City dropped points six times last year and they haven't played any of those fixtures this year yet. That means that unless Manchester City improves on their form, they will drop points nine times this year. The same can not be said for Liverpool as they have already played Manchester United this year away which ended in a tie both years.

I think Liverpool scrapes by Manchester City this year as long as Manchester City don't win at Anfield. That is one game that could really swing the pendulum in Manchester City's favor.

That game and this weekend versus Spurs are vital. A win against Tottenham is important as Man City has already dropped points to Tottenham at home.

The Title should be Liverpool's but you can never count out Manchester City.
