Where Will the Edmonton Oilers Go?

The four teams that I'm jealous about that I'm unlucky enough to be a fan of are the Edmonton Oilers, Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Vikings and Anaheim Angels.

Lately, these teams have fell flat on their face the last number of years. The only exception was the Vikings run to the NFC Championship game last year where they got destroyed by the eventual Super Bowl Champs.

What I find interesting about these teams is despite the playoff appearances by these teams they have a lack of conference championships.

More importantly, two of these teams have the best player in the game currently in their respective leagues. The Angels have Mike Trout and the Edmonton Oilers have Conner McDavid. To add to this, the Suns might have the best rookie in Deandre Ayton.

Out of those teams, the team that I'm most jealous about is the Edmonton Oilers, however, they are in big trouble if they can't make the playoffs this year. Jobs are on the line, it is so rare that the best player in the league missing the playoffs two straight years in a row.

They play Detroit tonight and given Detroit's brutal record this feels like a must win game for them. The Wild and Stars won yesterday putting Edmonton farther back.

I remember thinking in 2015 weeks after the Oilers won the the McDavid sweepstakes that the Oilers were going to win 3-5 Cups before he retired. They still might but with every passing year that goes by, there is a chance that other teams get better with their top draft picks. We will see what happens, I say Edmonton wins tonight.

As for the other teams, they have had some regular season dominance with little to show for. It will be interesting to see what happens to these four teams in the next decade.
