One thing that bothers me is how big College Football is compared to College Basketball. College Basketball lasts from about November to April 3rd which is a span of about 147 days. College Football season lasts from about 147 days compared to College Football season that lasts 130 days.
College basketball is more unpredictable and thrilling but yet it lags behind in how much money College Football makes.
If you were to Google what Oregon basketball schedule for next year it would be hard to find. In fact, Oregon Men's basketball Wikipedia doesn't even have a page out yet.
I completely get why. College Football brings in more revenue. However, that doesn't change the fact for me, the Thursday of the Pac 12 Tournament is my favorite day of the year. Furthermore, the 10 day period of Conference Tournaments in my favorite 10 day period of the year.
I'm a basketball enthusiast and would love to see basketball get more media attention. According to 24/7 sports Oregon has about half their games scheduled for this year. Here is the list of games we already know.
November 6th - Oregon vs Georgia in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena
TBA - Oregon at Florida A&M
November 24th - Oregon vs Santa Clara in Emerald Coast Classic
November 25th - Oregon vs Ohio State/Alabama in Emerald Coast Classic
December 2nd - Oregon vs Michigan at Matthew Knight Arena
December 17th - Oregon vs Syracuse in South Dakota
December 20th - Oregon vs Kent State
November17th the Ducks will welcome Tennessee State.
The Michigan game is the second of a home and home series that I believe started in 2019. My guess is that it should have took plce in 2020 if it wasn't for Covid 19. Other highlights include, Georgia, Syracuse and either Ohio State or Alabama.
Curious who the other teams we schedule are. Winning games in November can easily be the difference between a 5 and a 9 seed.
