Because of injuries, Nolan Patrick has slipped down to #2 overall. In a draft class that was already weak, a injury prone Patrick is the last thing the team with the #1 pick needs.
Last year there were two players that everyone thought was special. One of them was Austin Mathews who is already playing in the Playoffs.
For whatever reason I don't have much faith in the ping pong balls landing the Canucks way. I'm anxiously awaiting next Saturday. Lotteries have never Vancouver's way. Even in the Vancouver Grizzlies days things never went the Grizzlies way.

Derek Dorset is also locked up next year. So if Benning makes no moves the Canucks have 10 forwards and 6 defensemen who are ready to come into the team.
